I met this lovely couple in Taman Soekasada Ujung, a very relaxing water garden in East Bali, near Amlapura from the latest King of Karangasem. This is one of the highlight all tourist must see in East Bali.

The next morning February 10th, I was lucky to drive this couple around the east Bali. The first place we visited was Amlapura market, a morning market located in the heart of capital of East Bali, Amlapura. This market is the central market that seller and buyer come from nearby 7 km radius of the areas. It opens early in the morning at 05.00 am to 5.00 pm but of course more interesting to visit before 11.00 am the best time for you to see the crowd of the traditional market in Bali.

Along the visit to the market, I guided the couple to see closely what people can get at the market for daily needs. Products of fresh vegetables, meats, life chickens, sort of fruits, sort of nuts, different rice on display, fresh fishes, and beautiful flowers that Balinese use for offering.

From this market, we continued the trip to visit Bukit Cinta, around 10 minutes drive from the market. Bukit Cinta is the new set of point to view the beautiful scenery of rice fields on the distance and Mt. Agung. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy and showering rain. Then proceed to visit Tirtagangga, the water palace, a beautiful gardeen with huge fountains and Giant Koi’s ponds and a little cooler area in East Bali. This palace is another palace in the area that tourist must visit.

Then I drove the couple further to visit Lempuyang Temple for about 15 minutes drive from the Water Palace of Tirtagangga. Lempuyang temple is one of the famous temple located on the slope of Blibis hill for its Instagramable beauties of the mirrored photos on a huge gate with Mt. Agung on distance as the background. Lempuyang temple also offers the beauty of the Balinese temple it self with magnificent view around.

On the Feb 11th, we managed to visit Besakih temple on the way to Ubud. Besakih is wellknown as the Mother Temple of Bali, the biggest temple complex that located on the slope of Mt. Agung. There are 1 main temple (Pura Penataran Agung) and other 18 temples around. A very beautifull temples with multi roofed shrines called Meru. This temple was built in 1284 but archeologist found the stone bases of few temples resemble megalitic stepped pyramids, which date back at least 2,000 years.

18 Desember 2024 : Halfday Bali Old School Tour

We left the hotel for an half day tour to see closely the authentic of Balinese life. First visit we made was SDN 1 Tumbu (The Public Elementary school located in Tumbu Village) to see the real life of education system in Indonesian. Interacted directly with the Kindergarten teachers and students, saw the class room, playing ground, the garden, library etc. It was a nice fun for the kid to find how the local students interaction amongst friends and teachers and also had a comparison when they get back home.

Then proceeded to visit the local pottery in Jasri Village. In the old time when Balinese haven’t introduced yet with modern stove and other kitchen utensils, all Balinese used clay pan, pot and the traditional fire wood stove. Now the pottery products are mostly used for ceremonies equipment, flower pots, and also ashtray. Our guests could join the class how to make the pottery with the master.

We continued the trip to visit other local home industry making Dodol Nangka in Jasri Village. Dodol is a traditional Indonesian sweet snack made from coconut milk, glutinous rice flour and. brown sugar. Dodol produced through a 4 hours process to get a very low moisture so it can preserve it for longer time. They are producing 2 variants; a Jackfruit Dodol and Dodol Tape (permented Grutten rice)

Last visit before going back home, we stopped at Sorga Chocolate, one of the local chocolate factory also located in Jasri Village. Guest made a short tour to learn deeply about the Cocoa, how to process the bean, and how to make the final product of Bali chocolate.

30 November 2024 : Uluwatu Temple tour with Kecak Dance

Departed the hotel in Tanjung Benoa at 04.00 pm. Trip to Uluwatu temple took an hour drive from the hotel. Uluwatu temple is one of 9 holiest temples in Bali (Sad Kahyangan) located on a high cliff in the south-most of the island facing the Indian Ocean. Uluwatu Temple was built at the first time by a Hindus Priest from East Java, Mpu Kuturan on11th Century then rebuilt again in 16th Century.

The Balinese Hindus believe that the powers of the Hindu Trinity — Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva — are merged here. It is also belived that Uluwatu Temple a place of worship of Siva Rudra, the Balinese Hindu deity of all elements and aspects of life in the universe.

This temple is guarded by hundred of monkeys around the nearby sanctuary as one of tourist spot in the area.

Then at 7.00 pm, the guests started to watch Kecak Dance on an open stage on other cliff nearby overlooking the beautiful sunset and the silhouette of the temple on a distance. Kecak dance is known as Monkey and Fire Dance taken from Indian Love Story Ramayana. It becomes unique since there is no music instrument accompany the dance instead the dance sound “Cak Cak Cak”

29 November 2024 : Day Trip Besakih the mother temple of Bali

We departed from hotel in Tanjung Benoa south Bali at 07.30 am to reach the first stop we made at Kanto Lampo Waterfall. This site is located in town of Gianyar about 1 hour drive from Denpasar. A huge cascade that tumbles over a rocky wall face into a natural pool below. The access to step down for about 5 minutes. The waterfall itself is about 15 meters high (roughly 50 feet). A beautiful spot for photography.

From this waterfall, we continued to visit Besakih, the Mother temple of Bali. The biggest temple complex with 25 temples on the slope of Mt. Agung, the most sacred temple of the island. A magnificent panorama with multi roofed Metu (Pagoda).

Before proceeding the trip to Tirtagangga, we made a stop to a local restaurant Mahagiri, offers both buffet style Indonesian menus and A la Carte. This restaurant located on the slope of a hill overlooking a beautiful valley with local rice field on a distance.

After lunch, we drove directly to Tirtagangga with a minutes stop at Kutabali, the area near Sibetan village for rice terraces view. Tirta Gangga is a water palace built by the latest King of Karangasem set up as a recreation palace for the king and the royal family. It is now the most visited tourist spot in East Bali with a fountain and huge Koi’s pond and huge swimming pool with the fresh water directly from the spring water next door.

Late afternoon, we drove back to Tanjung Benoa.

9 Nov 2024 : Waterfall and Kehen Temple tour

Pick up at hotel in Sanur, we directly drove for a fullday tour visiting Kehen Temple as the highlight. First stop we made at Barong Dance performance in one of the stage in Batubulan village. This dance is one of “the must” watch dance beside Kecak dance and Legong dance. It is one hour dance performance.

Tour proceed to visit 2 waterfalls; Kanto Lampo and Tibumana Waterfall. Two beautiful waterfalls located in Beng village Gianyar and Apuan Village in Bangli. Guest enjoyed the lunch at local restaurant in Tibumana waterfall, which offer a local menu with magnificent of rice terraces view.

Next we continued the trip to visit Kehen Temple located in the town of Bangli. This temple was recorded on history built at the end of 9th century to the beginning of 10th century. So beautiful carved old temple on highland, sacred ambience 300 years old banyan tree. This temple are well decorated when we visited it in the preparation of the annual ceremony on 15th November 2024.

Then we drove to Penglipuran village, one of the beautiful village with its unique tradition. Magnificent setting of the village creates the most beautiful mountain village of the island. This village got some awards as the Most Cleanest village in Indonesia.

Last visit we made to Penelokan, the highland area to view the beautiful Lake and Mount Batur from the distance.

A full day Ubud and nearby village tour / 5 Nov 2024

Started the tour at 08.00 from Sanur, the famous tourism resort on the beach side facing to sunrise. Directly drive to 2 of the fine art galleries for Gold and Silver Jewelries and other for Wood carving arts.

Ubud and surrounding villages closed by are the center of Bali art and crafts; Stone carving at Batubulan; Silver and Gold Jewelries at Celuk Villages; Wood carving at Mas Villages; Fine paintings at Batuan Village; While Ubud market is the central places for all those arts in general.

Visit was also made to Tropical Plantation at Pengosekan Village where every visitors can see closely the coffee plantation, cocoa tree, sort of herbs and spices, tea etc. Demonstration from the local villagers about the process to make the best Bali coffee /Luwak Coffee.

Proceeded the trip to visit Tirta Empul temple, known as The Water Temple is spring water temple where local villagers will get the blessed holy water from. Use them for the temple ceremonies or for purification ceremony on site. Here at this temple, you can see both local and foreigners are doing purification ceremony.

Lunch time, we drove to Tegalalang to one of the local restaurant with magnificent view of rice terraces. Walking through the rice terraces can be done from this restaurant including Swing and Sky ride. This site is really instagramable paradise.

On the way back home to Sanur, we made a visit to Monkey forest so see lot of tame monkeys at the forest sanctuary in town.

Visit the mandatory visited village while your holiday in Bali. Ubud is the center of fine art and crafts in Bali for Silver and Gold Jewelries, Wood carvings, Painting and sort of souvenir you can fine easily in Ubud.

Visit to Rice terraces Tegalalang village, The Water temple of Tirta Empul are also worthed stops you might make. Arrays of art shops, local and International Restaurant are also easily to fine along the way to central of Village.

While on the west part of Ubud, become the central of Bali Adventure rafting, ATV Ride, Swings etc.
